The Challenge:
Create a replica version of an operation helm from Star Trek’s the USS Enterprise for the purpose of a media room coffee table and control panel.
The Solution:
The only way to fully capture the client’s expectations for this project was to do a deep dive into the “Trekkie” world. Hours were spent ensuring every component to this navigation helm were authentic to the USS Enterprise, including all button, levers, and artwork. The navigation helm also features an LED backlit screen, a total of 16 switches, and is programmed using Arduino technology. Arduino technology drives the control panel choreography which replicates many iconic sounds and dialog from the original series. A truly unique and fun piece of furniture to add to any “Trekkie” home.
Recreating Captain Sulu's Operation Station from Star Trek
16 authentic rocker switches activate sounds, each with a custom light pattern. Some of the sounds include Photon Torpedos, Astrogator, Spock's Viewer, and Red Alert, complete with flashing beacon!
